ban sabaii is a resort on the ban tai village beach. there are usually the after parties (of the half moon, black moon, shiva moon, and other moons ). All these "moon" parties are big advertized on the island so you can expect the whole tourist crowd. The better ones are from my experience shiva moon and jungle experience. fullmoon is big crap, thousands of drunk tourists pissing on the beach. has nothing to do with a a psychedelic event, a dozen of sound systems and all kinds of music... pop, house, disco, fullon, nothing psychedelic.

I just got back from this months full moon (on the 1st of march), and i gotta say - i agree with it been anything but psychedelic.
Although - there was a stage (up near the mountain bar) that was playing some great psy around 2am in the morning...
Other then that - i heard a touch of minimal played at the other end of the beach - and a whole lot of top 10 club and rnb hits played on every other stage..

woohoo! just got back from oozebar, quality psy and sound people, did finish at 1 tho, but just happy ive listened to some psy outside tbh and there doing a party tomo at this club called rca. nice one to the people who pointed me in the right direction!
not a video of tonight tho...

on koh phangan there are half/black moon and jungle experience parties near banthai on a regular basis. during off-season you can have small parties with around 50 people. they are great. i always loved them, just don't get lost in the jungle. :-P
there was an entrance fee on most of them, iirc 500 baht, what is a lot for thailand.
there are also great moon parties in railey in krabi, just on the beach, though not on a regular basis. but they are absolutely cool.
i must admit i also like the 'real' full moon parties and the days before on haad rin nok, it's just a spectacle one has to see. you can hang out whole night in the rock bar or else, have a mush shake and watch the beach or whatever you'll see.
