Did you update to the OS version 2.03?
Have you messed with any latency settings? Sometimes you have to adjust two different panels, the virus specific one and the general ASIO ones. I had something similar to what you described and adjusting the latency & audio priority settings fixed it.
Are you using the TI as your main sound device? http://soundcloud.com/aeon604

ive had the same problems plenty of times ,,,,
its not a virus issue ,,, i think its your sound card
u need to disconnect it and connect it back again
check ur sound card latency settings also in the cubase sx vst connections ,, the problem could be because of some improper setting there

Ok, heres what you do:
You take your TI, Unplug every cable... Then you lift it up to see the bottom, there it should say something like : Made in "BLANK". Then get frustrated over this message and throw it at your PC... That should fix the problem...
... Jokes aside...
Found something that might help:

Just go to thier website and update the driver. everyone has had problems with thier TI. with the new OS you have no problems and Fixed formants.

Well this is very important...go into the Device panel and tell us what your settings are.

I've had similar issue with mine.. Its true.. if your OS is not @ 2.03 your most likely going to notice it falling out of snyc and so on..
Also you should note that the TI seems to sync better when not used as the audio interface and using the VControl. for me at least. Im using the Audio kontrol or sometimes the 828mkii as the main audio interface and the TI in VC mode..
hope this helps..
