the mbase have such weird control on the kicks i m not used to, have to try this in zebra.. the attack and tail portion of the kick are 2 different process, the vco pitch sweep is not present on the middle highs of the transients , it s a combinaison of a pulse and noise. |

uploaded a few more ,not much attention to details just getting familiar with the settings ,no processing, not bothered choosing the best hits but you can get a idea of one of thousands sort of kick the mbase is capable, i go it not for psy kicks, more for bizzare and unusual kicks or techno i think it will be great for this but there is a good potential for psy too , specially with some eq...

i have the feeling the mbase or sample of it are a lot used on newer full on stuff, was lisetinng logic bomb, some of their kicks made me think to it, in tracks like bitter hitter, checksum ... probably that sort of kick is possible to get with a bit of processing ,also in tunes by dick trevor ,burn in noise ,zen mechanics and other full on artists in that style i hear similar kick to what i think is possible with the mbase and some processing. (not sure yet but can t wait to give it more time and know it better)
btw guys have you listened to the new logic bomb? some good tracks in there and the prod , nice sound caractere |

I really like Knorrar and the Sonic Algebra remix is nice too. The rest is too fluffy for my taste.

yeah a few tracks are too fluffy for me and some flirt just at the limit but i was expecting worst ,it sound mature overall i find it s a great album |

i m listeneing bitter hitter love the goa influence on this one , sound like a mix of total eclipse ,transwave and logic bomb. this track gonna damage the dancefloor , what a beat and groove !
the voice quote on what track it have been used? can t rememeber i think it s in a total eclipse tune not sure |

dunno haven t listened much the album yet but these tracks are way above the usuall full on to me, less boring bassline, more unprediictable sound, more unic sound , good progression intelligent flow, good production ,good stories, i find its quality stuff ,the guys really know what they are doing,
i m listening frontline right now it s a other good tracks , every thing sound like it where it should be,it s suprising, you never wonder why a sound or a break is there wihtout any reason |

This thread made go back to using the A-120 VCF for kicks. Just replaced the one from Ultrabeat in a track we are currently working on.
The whole vibe of the track just went from clean cut definition, to raw, chucky bottom end.
I am spoiled for choice

is it the same filter as in the dark energy?
made a few more mbase kick still 100% unprocessed and not made in a context of a tune , still experimetating .. have to work on tail more something i don t like there..i think pitching the tail in a wav editor could give good result what you think guys? the 5-6-7 are not bad for unprocessed imo but wihtout sound around it don t mean much
there is also a more exoctic kick inspired by the logic bomb checkksum and bitter hitter tunes, love these kicks and what it add to the mix combined with others percussion,hats.. have to experiment to get something more usable..
still not there but it get better, have to try to tweak the mbase into a tune and process it to really get a idea

maybe more for techno but once i will master it and start using layer i think it will shine, as the control let you tweak the attack or the body and it s possible to sample them independently , combined with zebra or ultrabeat or some 808 i think there is big potential. |

wow just tryed the kick 7 with ace bassline ..fuck better than i thought , cleaned a little the low mids with eq.. the kick call for a big phat bassline moog style ! ,still need some work but this thing might rox once i get to know it better, the kick had some qualities i think i never got with plugins but it s tricky to tweak as there is lot of settings some interact with each others, some are really unusual and it lack basic settings too.. like a adsr , it also can t work as just sine pitched kick but for me it s perfect as i was so tired of these kicks and zebra or ub are good for these anyway (and way more).once i know it better i m gonna experiment with more unic kicks that where the fun will begin |
