Meh, it'll be better than any other mixed cd ever done in this genre. Every other one has been pure shite.

I think it is nice for these artists to get this exposure - maybe it can generate the odd coin for the artists trying to make a living and draw attention to the amazing universe that awaits those willing to explore psytrance.
It is not as if many of our festivals are exclusive and undeground anymore anyway - at least in Europe, where the large festivals are over-run with candy ravers and "good weather trancers".
If each of these guys were to buy a psytrance release now and then with the same passion they buy cheap drugs at festivals, more psytrance artists might be able to at least make a little more money from their craft

Many seem to forget that oakenfold promoted the old psy scene with his Goa Mix http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Goa_Mix and his dragonfly records mix early on.
I'm very happy for these artists to get such exposure AND also for it to be mixed & produced well.
I mean, John Fleming's psy trance mix series sounded more trainwrecked than any Goa Gil mix!!

His old Goa-mix is indeed legendary, but that doesn't mean that the new one will be as well
For a more "commercial" mix one would probably have expected some overly cheesy, vocal-driven full on, but I'm glad to see that some good progressive acts such as Liquid Soul/Earsugar and Zyce are getting some exposure here. That Duotekk tune is also really massive.

V3NOM noone forgets anything and Paul is a legendary producer and dj BUT in the last years (actually since he moved to USA) he has become very very commercial in a bad way (at least for us the more underground music fans) by remixing the likes of Justin Timberlake,Madonna and Radiohead.

just curious, did Oakenfold ever perform at goa-parties or was he always a club DJ?
this release looks quite lame but still respect the guy for turning it on with a voyage into trance.

He was always a club dj even in the early days but he was digging up all the music styles back then and even included tracks from Mystica,Man With No Name,Astral Projection,Prana and other artists in his sets.
He was ahead of his time and he was an excellent compiler and dj.
Ofcourse he got bored of all this and decided to move to USA to make more money without having to travel so much. Cant blame him really i mean you cant do the same thing forever and many other people changed their attitude towards music and life style including Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Sasha and John Digweed.
Even Carl Cox got bored of all this and only flies with his own private jet when you want to book him which makes it possible only for huge events and organizations to work with him and actually pay him.

Props to Rocky for hitting the majors.
