Im not smoking but i can recommend one very good smoking album (which i really think was recorded and produced under the influence): Afroman - The good times
dope is mentioned in almost every song there
maybe you already know their best hit-"because i got high"
hehe           Life is too short to eliminate all risks.

funny irony you have there. I've heard the "hit single" and I'm sorry to say that I dont like it, and "talk" about dope isnt enough for me. Some intelligence is required. .. Havent heard the whole album though, but it cant be good.

in addition to Massive Attack, Portish, K&D, etc.. i suggest the following:
* Sasha - Airdrawndagger (Involver was mentioned and is good as well)
* John Digweed - Stark raving mad (the movie sucks big time, but the soundtrack is a master piece)
* LSG - Into Deep (the chill album)
* Sasha and Digweed: Northern Exposure / East + West coasts --> probably the best epic album ever made, technically amazing!!!
* Cass: Fire (minimal)

.. will add more later...

Good topic, I sure love those smoking-oriented stuff, my pick would be:

* Kruder & Dorfmeister - K&D Session
this was already mentioned, but I have to say, if you don't own this album already, get it ASAP. I got this couple of monthes ago, as i'm a newbie in Electo (not Psy-Trance related) music.
this is a SUPER double album, the 1st being more experimental and more up-beat, mixes styles like Bossanova, Nu Jazz, Drum & Bass, Dub, Electro etc... and the 2nd being more dubby and chilled, but both chilled to the max, very addicative music, smooth mixing skills, beautiful and lush music, just perfect. this is a MUST !

* Death in Vegas - Milk It
good compilation double CD, to get into DIV, their music is very dark, moody, rock-influenced, experimental at times, the 1st contains the original hits from most of their previous works, with Techno, Rock, Blues and Chill-Out oriented material, the 2nd is more experimental, with some House, Techno, Regge,Rock oriented.
very good background music, very complex and intelligent.

* Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother
no need to explain the relation of Pink Floyd to electronic music, although this is more progressive-rock and doesn't contain that use of synthes and the likes, like in for example Dark Side of the Moon. nevertheless, this is highly psychedelic, experimental and weird shit going on

* Deep Dive Corp. - their first 3 albums
the 1st (Support Your Local Groover) 2nd (Blackmail Recordings) 3rd (Beware of Fake Gurus). I didn't hear their new 4th album (Freestyle Floating, correct ?), so I can only highly recommand these 3, all of them very much in the Ibiza-Lounge style, really chilled out and deep stuff, very spiritual and emotional, one of the most beautiful music i've ever heard.

* Shpongle - Are You Shpongled ?
although, this should be in the chill-out section, this is Psy-Chill, I couldn't help but mention it, unforgetable

* Air - The Virgin Suicides
Air are both VERY talented producers, but most of the time their music is too fluffy, and kitchey for me, this album is more dark, deep and moody, even scary ! it's a soundtrack to Sofia Coppola's movie "The Virgin Suicides", and after you see the movie it adds to the overall mysterious feeling this soundtrack gives you.

* Massive Attack - Mezzanine
stunning work, also I can recommand Protection, their previous album, this one is very different from the previous, it's dark Trip-Hop, with chill-out and Dub influences, it's very deep, moody, and complex work, this has to be one of the best albums ever.

* J-Viewz - Muse Breaks
Jonathan Dagan is 1/2 Violet Vision, and a very talented and great musician, brings us here an album that stands in really high standards, this is one of the best albums for 2005 for me, it mixes chill-out, break-beat, electro, drum 'n' bass, lounge, etc... it's so wonderful and soothing, just take a puff and RELAX !

* Space Safari - Soul
This is one old nostalgic, and one my all times favorites... it really belongs to the Trance section, although it's really house-oriented, it has a really chilled atmosphere, and it was out on Free Form label, which is one of my all times favorites as well.
ideal for home listening, and good for background music as well, very deep and spiritual, lush and smooth, pure pleasure.

that's it for now !
