i am wondering if there are little or slim phatty users here using a vst editor and would like to know abt their experiences with it. the one from rekon looks good to me but costs 70 dollar.
maybe freeware that allows me to save and recall patches and organize banks would be good enough for me. also in this range i would like to know abt experiences.           http://soundcloud.com/vipal

I did not buy the Phatty editor although a mate of mine tells me its definitely worth it.
I stopped using the editor on the Minitaur as well.
Both Moog synths, have USB noise and it is a pain to connect/disconnect the cable all the time in order to program and then record the synth.

I am going to need more preset space at some point though...if I find a USB cable that eliminates noise, I might consider getting the editor, just for extra preset storage. I like programming the Slim Phatty from its panel.

I thought about buying the moog soft soon to be able to save my presets. I did read about midi-ox and stuff, but I want something comfortable (lazy me^^)

I haven't heard about USB noise yet...what do you mean with that?
My phatty is always connected via USB but I haven't noticed any "extra" noise so far when I turn it on.

Unless you are using of of them special noise canceling USB cables, you have USB noise in the Phatty's signal as well. It is a lot more present in the Minitaur which I noticed straight away when I got mine. Then tested the Phatty to see if its there as well. Its not as bad as the Minitaur, but it is there, a fact that made me quite using the USB cable to sequence the Phatty and just did it via MIDI.

Hm, thanks for the info.
I will test it this weekend to see if there's a difference between connected with MIDI or USB.
Connecting it via MIDI could get me into cabling/placement trouble again           My first track:

on the moog forum people advise not to use the soundtower version as it looses data. http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=13505&p=98023&hilit=soundtower#p98023           http://soundcloud.com/vipal
