Do u make sketches on the paper b4 u build your graphics on computer? I rarely make paper-sketches for my works, only in my head. And I think it's my mistake. That's why on some of my works u can't see the main idea. However, sometimes I get the best works without any sketches - it just goes from the hurt. After all, I think that for a serious works u need a sketches. What do u think?
(I'll check your answers on 16/3. Army - u know.) |

well that depends.. so yeah, for serious work you have to make sketches. for short movies it's also best to draw a storyboard that represents each snapshot of the animation..
but back to sketches, if I'm not 100% sure about what I want to do then sketches aren't always necessary..
but for example, check this link: http://www.abiotic.net/dreamer/3d/gumma.htm in this case I had to model a something basted on several character types. that is if he's a kid, looks a bit naughty, and more.. so it's much more easier to draw a sketch of it and once you decide on the character, you go on and build it.. cause otherwise it's harder and more time consuming to do changes in 3d.
check this link too for another example: http://www.abiotic.net/dreamer/3d/caui.htm
