Lately, I’ve noticed that there is a new style of trance called “skazi style”. I find this a bit odd, but can sort off understand why it’s referred to as “skazi style”.

When we started producing trance a couple of years ago, we pretty much sounded the same why we sound now. Obviously our sound is a bit more refined now, but the basic idea is still the same.

When the first skazi album was released, I personally didn’t like it that much. I thought that the basic formula they used for their build-ups was a formula the house producers have used and depleted many years before the skazi album.(I hope that statement does not offend anyone)

About 6 months after that album we heard some more skazi trax on some compilation cd’s and noticed something interesting. The sound skazi was going for was pretty much the sound we were working on and also a sound that was doing well on the dance floor.

A year after that we were introduced to asher( skazi ) and he played us some of exaile’s trax and we noticed that their sound was even more similar to our’s.

So what’s the point of this posting??

The point is that this style of trance basically developed in two deferent countries that are quite far apart. We found a sound that worked for us on the dance floor and so did skazi and exaile. So I don’t think it’s quite right to refer to it as a skazi sound. It’s just a new sound. If we had to introduce it to the public first, it would probably have been a damage sound and that would have been the wrong thing to say too.

I think that for the ppl that are really into this sound, they can clearly hear the deference in damage, skazi and exaile and whoever else is doing this style. It’s all a matter of taste. For the ones that are not really into the sound, it all probably sounds the same.

Anyway, nough said.

Is what I said bullshit or is there anybody out there that agrees with me. If not , why?

i haven't heard any of your tracks but i can tell you this. its not that surprising that you two (or 3) have similar style.
Trance is worldwide and everybody are influenced from other acts in different countries. just look at: pps project, lish, blt, cosma. their music is all under german\ scandinavian or israeli infuences.

Skazi and Exaile are for sure great acts. They have a new (at least for me it´s new) way to make the beats and kicks, we (in Brazil) call it "cavalgada" because it seems you´re riding a horse. I just love this style.
I can hear the difference between Skazi and Exaile. Never heard any of your tracks, Damage, have you ever released an album?

yes, there is an absolute difference between skazi and damage sound although it might seem similar.
i'm sory if i'm insulting somebody but skazi "heartcore" is the trance music i really don't like. only dancefloor killers which power lifts up the adrenalin but that is about all, no emotions at all imo, it is just music for the dancefloor which why skazi in quite a short time became one of the most popular trance artists.
whereas damage is something else although the kick is quite similar. there is some warmth and emotions in it...i don't know how to explain, it's just more special FOR ME.           Why u little !!!

ofcourse there is a difference....
and ofcourse ppl who dont like this kinda music wont know the diff cause they dont even spend the time trying to listen...
i think the basic point of this thread is your complaints about ppl calling this hardcore style - "Skazi style"...
well, thats just because skazi is very succesfull with his style and the roughness and "war" sort of style made him world wide known...
and thats why ppl call it Skazi style...
you guys (who do great stuff btw) feel bad cause most ppl think skazi invented this style...
well,
you cant change what ppl think.
most of the time anyway...
even and specialy when they are wrong...
so i think you should just keep doing your stuff and forget what ppl call it...
as long as they like you and buy records and go to parties and stuff....
just enjoy life.
and keep up the good work.
no matter what u call this style, it is popular.
and i like it too.
a lot.
cause i love to dance like crazy...
hehe..
