Leaving their music out of it, I think the scene needs artists like Skazi and such as it keeps a bit of a reality check in the scene.
Many people seem to think that this scene was somehow previously above ego and idol worship and such, but the truth of the matter is that is never has been. Spend some time digging through reviews and such written years ago and you'll see the exact same comments being made at other artists who were popular at the time.
I find that fact that even though this is supposedly a ego-less, peace loving all accept everyone type of scene, some of the hands down most commercially successful artists are the one who will play a bit to the "star" image in their music and live shows and generally don't fit into the vaguely hippy/peace type of image to be very interesting. I think the reason a lot of people hate these artists has nothing to do with their music at all, but rather because their precious personal notions of what this scene "supposedly" is are shown to be false by a rather large number of people in the same scene.
I also find it assuming that while supposedly this scene is very accepting of different people and different music and so on, day in and day out the same people who claim this yell at the top of their lungs how <insert artist whom it is fashionable to bash that year here> is ruining the scene, their music sucks, blah blah blah, and generally showing 0 tolerance at all.
In the last few years in particular I have really noticed a sort of "follow the leader" group mindset in the psy-world online that a bit disturbing at times. It is most noticable in the "Bashing Artist of the Next 16 Months" trend (going from GMS to Skazi to IM... any bets on who's next?), but can be seen in other places as well (constant vistors to the production forums will notice there is usually a given piece of software that everyone seems to have to say bad things about at any given time as well).
Think for yourself, check out the music you aren't "supposed" to like, make your own decisions, and respect other people's decisions.....

Hey, first of all, i dont know the guy you r talking about, but i have 2 say in his deffense... what is he jealous of?, why should any1 be jealous of IM or Skazi, i mean yeah they have worldwide recognition, and worlwide its said that these guys suck
Also there r people who like their music, but if u ask them what other artists they like, they will come up with a big list of cheesy super rockstars psy-whores!, and i have 2 say that a lot of this people r in some way new to the scene, its just a matter of time b4 they realize what kinda of bullshit they r listening

Good point... I think there are several reasons for this. Duvdev is the loud and aggressive frontman, whereas Erez is seemingly the quiet and mild-mannered genius behind the synths. I think the various interviews I've read through the years have built up a picture of Erez... for example, I remember reading he likes to go for a walk and get some hummus on a nice night. Other guys are talking serious business, or psychedelic enlightenment, and the brilliant mind behind IM is up for a good snack. Things like this build the impression that Erez is easygoing and a bit passive, subject to Duvdev's whims and desires for commercial success, but the truth of this is probably only known to close friends and family. Everything else is pure conjecture based on small scraps of fact and biased perceptions, so it should all be taken with a grain of salt.
