Helo
I'm sure it is not possible in a good way,but does anyone have an idea how to synthesize to come close to a sitar?

Also are there 'good' vsti's specified for sitar or esraj or some other traditional indian music instruments and can you give a link to a demo?
Peace

I have this free little sitar vst which I think is really good.
Couldn't find it on google so I uploaded it and it should be up there for atleast a week. Enjoy

A window appears telling me Syntar:Can't find data plug in file..
It recognizes the .dll but there must be a file more I think.
Would be nice if you could look up if something is missing..
Additional DAT file I think.

The trick is in making sure the transient sounds like a sitar, the rest is easy...           Upavas - Here And Now (Sangoma Rec.) new EP out Oct.29th, get it here:

but how to make the transient sound like a sitar if it sounds already like a sitar ,i have lots of fun .
I think it is a complex synthesis and maybe impossible to reach even the transient.          https://soundcloud.com/shivagarden

Samples are your best bet, but if you're set on synthing it, try a guitar emulator, and add resonant reverb and low frequency ring mod.           -Oscouro

Samples are not interesting me since I want to play a lot of indian scales.
But a rompler with each note a sample could be interesting, but than again a synthesized sound and a good vsti maybe even more interesting.

Thanks anyways bro'.
