how often do ya'll layer your bass with subbass? i generally just fatten it up with alittle eq and cut/boost at 30-40 using a dual sawtooth

square can work great too but the sine with distortion may lead to different squarish sounds than what you get with a oscillator depending the distortion used and amount, something to try it may work great but a square too...

in psy me i never layer it ,it make more sense to me if you want to have the mids in stereo and the low in mono, might use layers for this effect

im not happy with the comon sawtooth bein used for the bass, maybe coz im lookin for something different as i said... anyway my kick and bass syndrome yesterday is gone, it came coz the other day i accidently pluged my monitors speakers in the 110 volts plug lol.... and the sine wave in that sub bass region was eatin all the power and everything was soundin fucked up...... i didnt know the speakerss could turn on at 110 v and work at a weak state haha

gonna try that tecnic from scratch now with the monitors at 220 v haha, tbh that sine wave at the bass seems really promisin, but for sure a lot more trouble....the saw tooth can be rich in frequencie but seems to lack the power .... i always written my basslines with the sawtooth focusin the fundamentals in the region of the 40hz - 50 hz ( coz thats how i was taught ) but i never really felt this powerful....

if u really want to check it , u can listen a few oldtracks in here www.myspace.com/madentpsy

and some new ones in here www.soundcloud.com/madent

i feel it lacks the power of the sub in all.

not realy, if u turn on a 220 V in 110 v it just doesnt work, if u turn on a 1110 v equipment in 220 v then it would burn......

when you say you dont find it powerfull it s on all tracks or in yours? insteed of a sine you can try layering kicks to your bass, fading the attack so it dont get too much percussive (when i say layering it could be a -40 db lower than the bassline ,where it sound good just to get a little something and maybe not a psy kick but experiment, try 808 or maybe 909 too) i never really experimented with it but i know it s comon technics to use a 808 for that in some other kind of electronic music .
i m gonna experiments on this could be fun to make a bass like that for a track.
it could get you close to that kind of stuff i guess but it could be a lot more subbtle if you want it.

that track ! still love it

owwww
its in mine tracks bro...

i cant fuckin do a bassline sound good as i d like to... i ve tried it in so many ways.... i always used vanguard for it .... and i think vanguard s good for basses right ?

i can easily ignore it and keep doin my track and finish it tho in the end i ll feel disapointed coz it lacks the power......

as you can hear in the beginning there is the highpassed saw and after comes in the sine waves all together...

as saw has more frequencies between 62hz and 123 hz no note at 60 hz just a hint           http://soundcloud.com/magimix-1/chilling-forest-whispers
