Firstly, I was frightened to put this here.... but now I'm sure about that.....

I know that I've got a lot to improve, so I'll put here a place that you can find 3 new tracks from my project Sinapsy for a check.... All of them were "rejected" for some labels, but I know their reasons (Btw, they were very nice with me, but it's not my time yet, I think...).

So, be free to listen to:

http://www.terra.com.br/discovirtual

user: realpiza
senha: j3384va3 ("senha" is the word for "password" in Portuguese....)

You'll find:

Sinapsy - Experimenting with samplers
Sinapsy - Mensagem
Sinapsy - NN (130 bpm mix)

Please, be polite and don't delete this stuff..... it's like my gift for those who wanna know my tracks..... I'm sure that I will not have any problem with this, okay?

... the mp3 files will be in that virtual disk just for one week, so be fast!

THANKS! I hope to see some feedback!

ps: you can also check another EP in this url:

It's a virtual promo cd with some of my tracks and Nader's ones (Kaigang).

Experimenting With Samplers:
Opening doesn't have a point to it - it just doesn't build up to the track itself. Soft and jumpy groove, sound is pretty good (get rid of the clicks though), but this track goes around and around and never gets to the point. Too many breaks and not enough pressure keep this track from being much more than a rather oldschool house track with psy breaks.

Mensagem:
I can't stand the kick. Very good work on the basslines. A very interesting groove working it's way in the track, a load of great elements. Percussion work has some great moments, but it's NEVER dominant enough.

NN:
Some powerful progressive moments around this track. Definately the most in depth groove of the three tracks here. Didn't like the kick changing bit. Housey/tribal feel all around. When the lead enters, it just feels out of place. Not in the same tone as the rest of the track, for starters. A little bit of adjustments (tones, chord theory) here could fix this fairly easily.

Your major points for improvement:

* Structure. You should build your tracks so they keep feeling they're moving somewhere. Sometimes you can just imagine "wouldn't it be better if that element was here too... Stomping percussion has to come after this".

* Sound/Melody match. You have some great melodies. I mean GREAT. You have a reasonably clear and interesting sound. Play around with some softsynths, tweak everything some more. You never know what wonders you can stumble on

* Chord/scale theory. Could do wonders for your music.

Some nice grooves, melodies and ideas. A lot more to work on though. Very nice work overall.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

I only listened to NN - I think that the track could use allot of work. The kick is very hard\agressive. I would make it softer... The bassline is ok, and i'm sure that with a softer kick, it would sound really nice. Also, i would consider creating an opening for the track. Production is pretty good, but the track itself doesn't really go anywhere...

anyway, i see you have potential - just work on the structure of your music, and notice the small things (Kick, EQ, FX, Percussions...), that way, i'm sure your music will be great!           MiniMAL cabron...

Well Kaz and Munchie, thanks for your comments!

These tracks aren't finished yet... for this reason I put this here, because I saw that I've a lot to improve...
Firstly, it's not so easy for me to do that stuff.... hardware -> 166 MHz, 32 ram, etc.

The tracks that I showed it for some labels were NN and Mensagem.... Experimenting with samplers, like the name are saying, it's an experience! hehhe... I did this one just in 3 hours in a Sunday, with nothing to do and with some samplers that I found in my computer... hehehe....
Well, talking about my life as a listener... I started to listen to electronic music when I was 11. So, after that I've been in contact with a lot of styles like Eurodance, House, Chicago house, Detroit, Acid techno, Breakbeat, Jungle, Drum'n'Bass, Melodic Trance, Trance, Speed Garage, Minimal Techno, etc.......... as a Dj (since when I was 14... I'm 18 today) I used to play Eurodance, them Breakbeats, them Chicago and Detroit tracks, them Melodic and Progressive Trance and finally I entered in the Psytrance scene, trying to play the Progressive side nowadays.... =o)
Is it a good salad huh?????? hehehehe.... so, sometimes I wanna put different elements in my tracks, but I'm not so good enough to match them in a real way.....

It's very nice to read this stuff from you.... thanks a lot for the review!

cheers,           "Who is this doin this synthetic type of alpha beta psychedelic funkin?"

Hey... listening to NN right now... I agree with Kaz and Munchie on all things... I'd say the thing which fails the track the most is production.!(the most dif. as well huh.. ).. like for e.g, the BASS & Kick are both occuping those low SUB freq. zones.. so they are clashing shit loads.... if ya want both in the SUB but sounding cleaner, delete all BASS stabs that fall on the same count as the KICK.!! or, eq. one a bit above/below the other (works for me.!)
...and def as KAZ says..."When the lead enters, it just feels out of place. Not in the same tone as the rest of the track, for starters..."..just as I was thinking...@ahh yeah.. nice morning leader tune opening up bright and happy... this discordant, minor 'cloud' appeared and spoilt the morning 'lift' feeling.! :-( ....so yeah...really good potential for its style... just gotta tweak, polish and shine it a bit more)... definatley a nice morning sunshine track in there somewhere...... keep at it dude.... I wanna here a future version if you decide to

Firstly, I second all the things that were said here. Your music is interesting and your talent is certainly noticeable.

The sound is a major problem in all tracks, and i'm not relating here to a specific part; You have very good quality samples/synth lines, such as in "opening" of Experiencing with samplers, but than enters a low quality rumbling loop which is really annoying. Those abrupt shifts in quality turns the listening experience to a not very enjoyable one.
Either you find some better loops (or even better, create some), or you find a suitable solution to lo-fi the high quality in order to smooth the sound scape out (the first option is way better IMO)

Keep up
PT
