OK, me and one of the humble moderators of the Unidentified section (Anak-O-Luth) had a rave discussion whether Simon Posford uses or not (ab)uses the TB-303 Synthesizer on his Infernal Machine Tune "Nocturnal Chainsaw Kerfuffle". It is a known fact that Simon does not uses this classic synth in his tunes and emulates a similar sound on SH-101. I told him that since it's not Simon's solo work but a collaboration with Dick Trevor, this could be a TB-303 indeed
The only reasonable explanation would be that Dick Trevor brought his 303 machine and convinced Simon P. to utilize it in the favour of human kind.
What do you say? Please help to restore our friendship. Thanx in advance

Its definetly NOT a SH101. You can't make accents with the 101. Its either a real 303 or an emulation.
I don't think that Simon Posford tries to emulate a 303 with his 101 on his own tracks. Many confuse a distortet saw wave with a 303. It take more than that.
Actually I dont think that th 101 sounds like a 303 at all. |
