Does anybody have good ideas how to recreate this bassline/kick combo (from 1min 35s forward):

You have a bass note and kick hitting at the same time and to me it sounds that both have low end. And I really don't hear any sidechain ducking, maybe a little bit but not sure. And not even a "ducking highpass filter".

Could it be that the kick is actually highpassed somewhere in 70-100hz and the only low end you actually hear is from the bassline...?

dunno man but kick and bassline can play fine toghther wihtout any eq or sidechain, you need to make right kick that dont mess too much with the bassline fondamental . it can make the kick sound kinda far from the bassline like on this but there is not enought low end on the bass there

You just wan't it to sound nice and uniform.. the problem you are thinking is that when the kick and bass plays at the same time, it should peak in the lower frequencies, but there are many ways to treak that. The normal sidechain will take out the bass, but that doesn't really happen, and the filter side chain might not work too. However, mayby with some nicely tunes multiband compression you could control the lower frequencies..?

No matter what, forget about preconcepts you might have, and just make an overlapping kick and bass sound good           Super Banana Sauce http://www.soundcloud.com/knocz

you can eq separetly the bassline notes that play at same time as the kick. but i think in that track and many goa ones it was more about finding sweet spot with the synths programings
