In Cerebro 8, the kick and bass are way too loud compared to the other elements. I have to cut 7 or so dB on the 60 hz slider in WinAmp. On the other hand, they are phat and driving. The leads have a clear darkpsy flavour, which is not a very good thing because they're so overused by everyone. Fortunately the track otherwise stands out from the darkpsy crowd. The sounds are twisted, but not in a quirky way, and that's good. But they should be phatter and more up-front. There's quite a bit variation in the track; that's a big plus too. Very good percussion-work.
The second track starts out very similarly to the first one, with those drone-y sounds. Again the kick & bass are too loud, almost as much as in the first track. Otherwise they sound good. The leads sound mostly very similar to the ones in the first track and because of that they start to get somewhat boring. Good pads. Again strong percussion-work.
Neither of the tracks had any clear climaxes, but IMO that's the case with many darkpsy tracks in general.
All in all, well done. |

Thank you everyone for the feedback. Have in mind that detailed comments like the ones jivamukti has posted WILL help me in finding whatever is wrong in my overall EQ and compression plans, so feel free to post all information you think is relevant. I will surely continue to improve my work and expect to see new tracks posted soon. Once again thank you. |
