Tracklist:
1 Nexus6 remix
2 Pure Reality
3 Seismic Charge
4 Analog Device
5 Onida
6 African Daydream
7 Inner Space
8 Memento
9 Mindsacpe
The global musical content of Silicon Sound (Johannes Regnier) is, if you still don't know his work, melodic, cosmic, quite emotionnal and also danceable.
Major part of the tracks (3,4,5,7&8 ) have the same construction & the same tones and sounds as Digital Thought for the ones who know it.
I mean:you'll encounter lots of morning elements on these tracks during the intros or the breaks.
Quite oftenly the melody is at the climax of each tracks hammering played.
The melodic sound on beginning of T4 is slightly different than the usual Silicon's ones and get more funky spirit.
The remix of nexxus 6 is a big success, more cosmic & morning, indeed more deep & catching.
The 2 most chill outed tunes:African Daydream & Mindscape are simply 2 little jewels.
Except Nexxus6 remix and the 2 chill ones, for me the more worked & interesting production resides in Pure Reality and results to my ears more original and so more effective.
note about the artwork:i find awful the cover.
Highlights by order:1,9
in second place:2,6,4
mark:7,5/10 |

To be honest that is a very average review and 7.5/10 - are you serious.
The artwork for the cover - who cares - it is the music that matters not the bloody cover!!!!!!
I think this album is probably going to be album of the year. It is a mix of so many styles and captures the best elements of each. A bit of GMS, Talamasca, Logic Bomb and others. The sound that Johannes produces is magical. Every track just grows and has powerful basslines with atmospheric sounds.
The nexus 6 remix made an already brilliant track into something even more mystical. Pure Reality, Analog Device and Outer space are the next best for me with big power bass and noises that are unique to johannes style. Onida, Memento & Seismic Charge are just slightly below the best but still with amazing soundscapes and defineable silicon attributes. The 2 chill/downbeat tracks are truly works of a magician.
Overall, i think this album typifies what full power morning psy is all about. Johannes has done it the way it should be done with no weak links and no tracks that are just thrown on the album for the sake of it. Each track has its place and its purpose. These tracks will surely be rocking dancefloors all over the world in the coming weeks and months.
score - 9.9/10 |

Dave, as you told it in a public way i answer you the same way.
Dave i don't understand what's your worry with my review, it's a personnal thought you're not obliged to agree. Btw for me giving an artist 7,5/10 is a good mark, and i don't think that giving each nice release 9 or 10 (9,9 is the same) very objective and helpfull for the people who wants to make a ideaon a new release.
About the artwork thing, i like to underline if it fits well with the global music content or not, i consider the release as a global thing.
Silicon's stuff is cool but i think he don't explore all his potential , the result is a bit too formatted for me, that's why i gave this album only 7,5. I'm sure and have already heard to more uplifting stuff from this artist. |

for sure...everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
One point i will make is that is it quite rare these days to get a release with all quality tracks and i found that on this album there were no weak links...i guess that is one of the reasons why i like it so much. Also we must remember this is a debut album. Johannes is still learning and his material will surely get better with age. |

Well just finished listening to it.
My favorites are 1,5 and 6.
The remix to Nexus 6 is just amazing and more melodic than the original version,a real party killer and for sure best track in this album.
I like also Onida very much because of its Japanese vocal samples and i also like African Daydream that is slight different from the other tracks in this album.
Some good elements in track 2 that starts very very good but ends very repetitive, this could be much better.Memento also has some interesting things to hear but could also be much better.
Track 9 was ideal for ending this cd,nice and relaxing.
I didnt liked at all tracks 3 and 4 and i found average track 7.
This is not an innovative album (some fx and sounds appear many times) but it has some good moments and for sure we will hear many of these tracks on the dancefloor because they can fit every dj set very easily.
Johannes has a great future lying in front of him for sure.
I rate it 7/10 and i expect even better things in the future.

Good CD.
Best tracks, IMO, Nexus 6 rmx (best one), Pure Reality, Oninda and Memento.
Good full on here, you'll hear it on parties for sure.
I think his next release will be even better.

Nice album from a rising star Best track here is for sure nexus 6 rmx! African daydream is a killer down tempo track... Some dancefloor killers here and some average tracks. Nice job from silicon sound, who seems to be very talented

Ok album - but nothing spectacular.
The first track is a real hit though. They added a new layer of melodies to Nexus 6, and it's simply amazing. By far my favourite on this album.
For me the next highlight is "Onida". I heard it the first time at VooV last year, where me and a friend was walking around someplace far away, trying to find our tent, and totally fucked on acid
That Darth Vader like sample is great
I think the rest of the tracks are standard, and doesn't stand out. My conclusion would be that it's an ok album with 2 big highlights (1 & 5).
My verdict: 7/10

This album is one of the most expected for me, crystal clear Silicon Sound.
much has already been said, so i'll be brief.
Best tracks are Nexus 6 rmx, Analog Device, Pure Reality and Memento.
This a great album, and great sound. The only bad thing i'd like to point out is that some tracks are way too pumping, but have very little "soul"... i mean, they remind me more of techno than trance, lots of action and basslines, but little content in the middle.
Anyway, this is a must-buy.
i find the artwork great! i think it fits perfectly the sound.
