Heya...

I've just built myself a P4 3.2 Ghz pc with a server case and was wondering if anyone knows some good fans to use to reduce noise coming from the box. I believe it is the fan on the motherboard that is making the most noise, although there are 3 additional fans that help to keep things cool. The noise is annoying when I am making music.

I am using an Asus P4C800 motherboard. Does anyone run any special 'silent' fans for example that run on the P4 3.2ghz processor. I am not looking at anything to shield the noise in the case, but nice fans that are silent.

Any recommendations?

cheers

3 options .. first ... buy one AC font power .. silent ! ..
second .. indeed u use medium fans .. they need to rotate fast to give much cold air ... so buy biger ones ... that rotate much more less .. and they do a good job .. then ... try to get video card without fan ... because after some use .. they only do noise .. and for the cpu ... take of this fan too and put some likid coller box for the cpu :=

this might slow your noise           "HIGH PULSE" AKA FUSION OF DARKPSY PROJECTS

i definitly recommend watercooling system, got 3 fans in my system now 1 120mm fa at 18 dB for cooling the radiator, and one that sucks in cool air in the front, and a papst 80 mm at 14 dB at the top of the case to suck out hot air, the case temp is 23 C' and the cpu overclocked from 1.8 Ghz to 2,1 ghz and running at 43 C'.Also its good to put special Sound and vibration absorbing materials in the case-wall they are really good to absord high frequency sounds from Harddrives fans and so on.
