I'm a little confused, is there a sidechainer in Cubase or do i have to get a seperate plug-in? |

There is for VST 3 IN Cubase 4,but before you have to get an additional plugin like c1 compressor by waves and do a workaround..check youtube..you will find tutorials,or even on this site..

dbaudioware has easy sidechainer. on kick you put preset sendA on bass receiveA and voila. |

personal recommendation
try otis compadre and kjerhaus golden fx..
if ur using SX u will have to create a group channel (quadro) and in it sub channels stereo and stereo ls rs..
then you route source channel with send to the group LS Rs chanell and route channel u want to compress to the stereo out of the group channel..
in cubase 4 its a lot easier to do..
