Sidechain in Logic 5.5 ,ued the search but......

I tried the using the search engine but couldn´t find about this issue. Well i´d like to know how to sidechain with logic own devices, this case im not ineterested on kick/bass; i want it for precusssions and some drum loops with snares i made, all i want i when the percussions(congas)hit, the volume of the drumloop gets lower.
It´s the same idea at the end of the day so...im not so sure how to do this sidechain stuff in logic. Thanks again |

It is exactly the same idea as u said...
on ur congas channel, set a bus send to 0dB preferably and set it to Pre.
and now put a Logic compressor on ur drumloop, set it to sidechain the Bus you chose earlier, play a bit with the threshold etc to fit ur taste.
done.

Thanks i guess i better readmore about sidechain...Trip- i did as u said, but somethings arenot clear.When i put a compressor on the drumloop and try to set the it to the bus, but only track numbers appear(track1,2,3 etc..) no bus shows up..mmm i guess i have to set it to teh track where my precussions are right?
I´d appreciate more help since my daily job is taking too much of my time i don´t have enough of it to read or practice (it´s awful) Thanks. |

In the earlier versions of Logic, you could only sidechain audio tracks and not Bus channels. If you have 5.5 version it's rather strange why you see only Audio tracks when choosing a sidechain channel.
