Sick Addiction - Demented Diary

1. 50/50
2. Cleaning Up The Place
3. Space Worms
4. Half A Quarter
5. Kinky
6. Happy Times
7. Detune Saga
8. Monkey Business
9. Mug Shots
10. Sweat

Sick Addiction is a collaboration between D_Maniacs and Tryambaka. Although I'm not familiar with D_Maniacs I have been a Tryambaka fan the last years.
Luckily this album reminds me a lot of his works including his album Colour Of Time.
If you're familiar with the Portuguese Full On scene then you might know what to except. It's powerful, energetic, dancefloor smasher music, with a load of melodies minus the cheese. All the tracks seem to be perfect for both morning and night times and great for both dancefloors and home listening.
All of the tracks have multiple melodic lines, that range from ecstatic fast ravey lines (which I guess is more D_Maniacs style) to the known classical-influenced Tryambaka melodies. Also the album is pure psychedelic with many fx madness and great ideas. The only thing that I guess some of you won't like that much is the use of long and funny samples especially in the intros. But I think they fit pretty well with the whole attitude of the music.

Favorite tracks are 50/50 (which as the name suggests seems to be the perfect example of both artists' styles), Kinky and Happy Times. But IMO all the tracks are strong and if you like one, you'll like the rest too.

If you're looking for something both powerful and melodic this is a perfect album.

8/10

I prefer concise, to-the-point reviews that give you a brief overview of the general feel of the album over the huge, wordy reviews that take up 2 posts with a paragraph on each track that are way too long to read. I usually just skim to the “conclusion” on those anyway. The above review gives me just enough info to decide whether or not to take a closer listen to the album.

hmm I then think, ppl should'nt get here as u get a brief and a concise review about the album or, VA in psyshop and in saiko.. why have these ppl made this section "music reviews" only for brief and concise reviews??... incase ppl dont know abt psyshop and saiko.. m not contradicting ur words.. jus saying that brief n concise review for any album is good but a detailed one would be much better infact and I do read the entire thing.size of the review does not matter as that person has taken the time and energy to post.hence I do respect big reviews by any user here.... even though my eyes starts watering ..i dont give a shit..

and detailed review for this album would be nice           0x00000PSy

I obliouvsly agree with Btros since I wrote the ''review'', but ok no more concise reviews at least from me.

I've been waiting long time for this release...congrats to Tiago&Manuel!!!

About the album:

First time i listen to it i was, not disapointed, but a bit put off as i was expecting the same vibe as their previous releases (Today's Madness for example). And the album moves away from those lines...but cannot deny it has great moments and its nice to see new ideas/concepts come to light...

Hope to see them live soon and wish them all the best

+1 to what ellon said,
i expected to see a varied album especially as far as bpm's go, but this album is straight blast into space at 147 bpm .
at times i felt that some of the tracks lose focus, but the melodies really give the music here something special. i am still to see another project that gets so much out of their melodies as sick addiction do. the climax of 50/50, and detune saga will definitely prove that point .
also did anyone notice the really particular shimmerfing effect on half a quarter - i think its the same effect used in shift's synesthesia off midnight storm 3: gale force. regardless, half a quarter is one creepy tune .
one last comment - is it just me or are these tracks kind of hard to mix with other twilight tunes? i always seem to have issues with the percussions clipping about or snagging with other tracks... bleah

regardless, i am pretty stoked with this album. all the best to tryambaka n d-maniac with sick addiction and their solo projects

Yep, LOVE those magical melodiez!!!
I really dig sick addiction's style, definitely my favorite twilight/fullon project, incredible energetic psychedelical feeling... this is totally different and unique twilight experience, respect for the duo!!! Hope to hear lots of nice things from you guys in the future too...
