I heard not so long ago that there's a Hollywood movie being made soon about the life of Jimi Hendrix with the lead role being taken by Andre 2000 (Out of the pop act OutKast), But Jimi Hendrix's relatives have insisted if the film was made there would be no mention of drugs in it !!!! Which is ridiculous they're making a film about an acid head and they can't mention acid !!! |

He wasn't so much acid but more marijuana from what I've learnt from my brother-in-law who is a rock historian... couldn;t play the guitar for shit uynless he was doped up hehe... very inspiring musician though, his guitar skills were out of this world and my dad has a great story from having seen him live... though mmy mum's stories about seeing the Beatles twice are quite funny, the sound systems back then were hilarious they were so bad hehe |

I don't like non-electronic music, so I can safely say Shpongle...
But you can't really compare artists like that.

Hendrix is too intense for the likes of Shpongle ....
Now The Melovskys are a totally different brand.... and like Jimi, they come from S.America.
Listen to Purple Haze by Hendrix and then the same track by The Melovskys. Best damn psy-rock remix on the planet! As much as I love Shpongle, no'one does (or can do) Hendrix better than these guys.

As well as coke in the headband. Prolly more so than acid.
The funniest moment of Woodstock is a Jimmy show, and all of a sudden Carlos Santana barely crawls up onto the stage in the corner and just looks around with the biggest shit-eating grijn on his face and starts plucking away at his guitar. I wonder what he was on. hmm

how dare you compare hendrix to shpongle???
those of you which are saying shpongle can be compared to hendrix dont have a clue about music IMHO, Hendrix was much more creative than shpongle and inspired more artists than shpongle will ever do!!!

Hi people!!
This is my first post in this forum... So I was almost 20 years real Rocker, listening everything from Rock'n'roll till Deth Metal, during this period!.. an hating electronic music... 
but 4 months ago, a good friend of my, my Benefactor introduced me to Goa Trance and I'm in love now!!! And how I was surprised when found big similarities between Rock and Trance!!... so my first post must have meen here!
YES, Jimi and Shpongle are similar, in... actually I don't know why but I have same feeling listening to them!... and Shpongle is like Pink Floyd also!!!... |
