Many of the essential traits to this album have been omitted from the review. A bit too shallow, but the verdict is understandable. You could have posted it in the thread already going about Ineffable Mysteries here on this forum though.

I think there is difference between doing an album 'review' and an album 'critique'.
A review is supposed to be objective to the art at hand, whether you personally like it or not, you have to try and set your own tastes aside and try and communicate the artwork to your reader.
A critique is criticisms; whether constructive or not; of the artist, the work, their over all direction as an artist et cetra.

I hadnt listened to the album since on november 28 Simon would play an Shpongle set at a party here in Mexico.
He opened with the first one of the new album (I know this now cause i looked for samples after I came back from the party), it was a blast of acid melodies.
he also played, Ineffable, Invisible Man, Shponglese, I am you and Nothing (6 out of 8 If i heard and remeber properly).
I liked a lot must of the new material, some really trippin vocals, sounds and experimentation here and there.
The crowd was really hypnotized through all the set.

the problem with valuing art is, till u dont understand it, it's worthless but wen u do understand it, it's priceless!! |
