Maybe he's piss-bored of psytrance and fancies a musical challenge and some real live performances for a change.           Mastering - http://mastering.OOOD.net :: www.is.gd/mastering

anyone do what anyone wanna do, and its their lifes, if you like it or not, its your problem...

so bloody what shpongle uses samples??? show me the sign with "thou shall nevah use samples!" beeing mentioned...

and so bloody what mr. whoever decided to do a little change with his carrer, and it happened to be a move out of psy trance.....boo woo, big deal, he'll prolly be happier doing so...

so mind your own business and try to do something for a change instead, and stop bugging other ppls life about how they do their (esplendid) art which is music....           un-fucking-believable

good to see some people enjoy the younger brother album like I do... its really a massive release in my eyes.. if somebody is going the future way of music and shows some balls, than these guys..

very slick and tight production, pop´a´delic music at it´s very best..

Off of the album "Bass, Sweat, & Tears" by Gaudi - at the begininng of the track 'Kimiyaa E Moraad', there's some flute playing which sounds exactly like the flute used at 7:10 in 'Star Shpongled Banner'. Naturally, I'd assume that Raja would be the one playing the flute, but on the Gaudi album, it credits Errol Campbell for the flute on that track.

Here's the Discogs for the album:

It's the same melody, the same sample, just slowed down. It's not a different recording, which one cand deduce because (for example) during the second track "Sufani" you can hear a sample off of Ott's Blumenkraft, the chanting melody bit from the second track I believe.

none the less - sample cd's are here to use and i got no problem with that 100% , only with the "live" lie , this is rediculus in the good case

I did not say that I don't understand why he did it. I just don't find it interesting. 10 years ago it would probably be experimental and interesting... now it's just funny.           "It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. Yeah, exacly my thought.Artists some year after doing much electronics behind a computer needs to play more live perfs., that's vital and much more funny and creative.
This Y.Bro album is a gem, thought.

And about sample CD's, let's say they're like colours for painters...this is sound for musicians..same kind of thing...If you're skilled you could melt some of those with your creations and feelings and get a very nice final product...like Shpongle did.

Cheers

oh my god!! I recently found some guitar sounds on a jimi hendrix cd.. what a shame...
how can he use a lame guitar like everybody does??

we should all use our fridges to make music...!

I mean, who needs synths or sample cds? everybody does it.. let´t tweak our sofas and kitchen aids to the perfect sound...

what are synths and presets and samples anyway? and who are u btw.. how did I get here?

fuck I visited a forum that gains me knowledge about making psy music.. how fuckin mainstream?!

our mission is to make the first psy trance track on the moon maybe, with bare hands. naked. fucked on lsd, oh no, that could actually be a help. naked in the dark. only with stones... without air.. make it as hard as possible...

only then it will be REAL....

I can understand why people are a bit disappointed about Shpongle using samples from CD collections. I was also disappointed when I heard those samples just because I've imagined that behind any "oriental" vocal there are countless hours or composing, recording etc. It is the classic failure of expectations and the inevitable result is disappointment.

I think that people here don't mind using sample CD's in general... what they mind is a "failure of ideal" so to say. To realize that he is also using common samples, techniques etc makes him less "ideal" or should I say makes him mortal again.

From my experience I can say that the root of disappointment is in the fact that I have set my standards based on the work of Simon. After a few years of not using any presets or prerecorded samples I found out that he was using both of those. For a brief time it annoyed me but then I've realized futility of such mindset. Shpongle is still great music and I have learned a great deal by avoiding presets and samples. So nothing is lost in the end

I'm saying this hoping that those still disappointed will be able to change that into a sense of accomplishment.           "It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. My discovery was the result of musical perception"
