WOW TRANCEPHONIC CRonik u sure know alot about the sceene not listening to DB for 6 years. THe nice thing about this festival is they dont descriminate about music, im glad its not only psy or chillout thats why im going to bisco and not most of the festivals, Im a fan of all music hip hop drum and bass chillout, jambands. this festival has it all and its not cheese like banaroo where you have kanye west , and ashlee simpson this is by far the best festival on the east coast, makes orb and gain ming festival not even worth going to. THIS FESTIVAL IS NOT ABOUT THE LINEUP ITS ABOUT HAVING A GOOD TIME AND HEARING NOTHING BUT THE BEST, I DUNNO BUT LISTENING TO PSY TRANCE ALL DAY IS KINDA LAME, AND NOT VERY INSPIRATIONAL. EVERYONE I BROUGHT TO BISCO CAME BACK AMAZED at what kind of music is out there and its nice to see the twisted family gettin respect in this scene. IF YOU DOUBT IT CHECK IT OUT YOURSELF |

Most of my friends don't see em anymore. Last time I saw them they butchered I wanna be sedated and I was like fuck this.

this is the reason this fest is so succesful because its not all the same music. if trance crews would do the same im sure there would be a turnout of 6000 people instead of 300 |

Its nice to see diffrent kinds of music. isnt that a point of the festival? i mean if its advertised as as psychadelic art, culture and music festival is should contain a mix of genres its just dissapointing how judgemental how people are about "scenes" i mean as long as its not garbage music i think hip hop and trance and reggae could all be part of the culture. i dunno maybe its just me but if its all psytrance its kinda boring trance these days is not even evolving that much im sure most would agree the 4/4 beats for 3 days ..... i dunno not my cup of tea. |

Most music is on 4/4 or 8/8 beats. Not all, but most.

fact of the matter is that different people have different tastes in music. If someone wants to listen to a 5 kHz tone or some girl jam a flute up her clam and do jumping jacks all weekend then more power to them. I've been to 3 camps, 1 gmind and 1 orb. the fact of the matter is that camp is full of all kinds of people, including tons sketchballs flaunting massive amounts of illegal drugs (which attracts the authorities). but like anything else, it is what you make of it. surround yourself with good people you know and you'll be alright. the thing with GMSF is that 99.9% of the people there are conscious, open-minded, caring people and thats what makes it a special place. Orb was cool too but there were definitely a few weirdos...like the guy stabbing the dancefloor with a knife and the middle-aged white lady spreading rumors of a "european hydraulic trance mass murder cult." My long winded point here is that to each his own |

Mixed genre is a great idea, A festival should reflect a spectrum of music. I see it as a gathering of many scenes and sensibilities. The issue I have with most of these mega festivals is the commercialization that occurs. Do you think that Camp Bisco maintains the integrity as a revolutionary music festival or is it catering to the masses? Excuse my Hobbes, but the masses generally fuck everything, especially art, up. I like a number of the acts at Camp Bisco, but I believe the word is out that this event is meet up for XYZ. Which means, finding ABC there is gonna be a lot harder.
I have been to Starscape, which has a very similar line up to Bisco and I can tell you, it is a sad sad event, It's like that 80's clip with native crying looking at the trash heap. It's like the inspiration for Eminem lyrics.
I personally think most of the crowd is not there for the music or even the vibe. I think it's the mob mentality. Perhaps Camp Bisco is on it's way towards becoming a really accessible and popular festival. Beware of this, Bonaroo is a joke(Metallica, why not just recreate Woodstock 99), Coachella is a Budwieser commercial. The big euro trance fests seem worse.
Don't settle for what the media tells you to buy, consume and interact with.

Holy Ghost is one of NY's coolest upcoming producers...disco revival sound! his set and the whole DFA tent should be wicked
as for these guys Orchard Lounge, i'm not sure how they do it, but they somehow get booked a lot for big gigs like this especially in the DB circle. i remember a few years ago they played before me, the opening set for a Tsunami party @ Spirit. not to sound judgemental, but they were basically two frat boys spinning generic chillout like shpongle, etc. an analogy would be Minds of Demented, if anyone remembers them, except the chillout version i guess i hope they've atleast started playing original work or spiced up their DJ act. it's either that, they play for free or even pay to play, or have a family hookup. |

fyi they are having it at Mariaville again. Its very welcoming camp site for the biscuit crowd..... camp 5 was a shit show at hunter mountain due to security, the only security at mariaville is bikers and they are actually really awesome guys if you show them respect which i would expect everyone from this board to do. |
