wow he actually outdid himself and recorded the samples instead of using sample cd's that have been used millions of times before. Very innovative Simon the indian samples does not excite me but you never know...times have changed for sure.

I am a really big psy/chill/ambient lover. I like the different styles within this genre. And Shpongle is something unique. It is not my number one, simple because i can not listen to them every moment of the day. I have to be in a special mood to listen to them because they can be very, very wild, crazy and almost psychotic.
But the way they create that tippical crazy sound is so fucking brilliant.
And about using Indian vocals again in psy chill: yes i agree that a lot of artist have used those vocals in the past and still using them today. It is not unique anymore.
But take a good listen to the vocals Shpongle have used on their albums. And then you have to admit that most of the vocal samples they use are not just vocals. They do all kinds of things with vocal parts, for example: they throw nice effects over them or (and) cut very tiny pieces out of them and paste it somewhere (i don't know for sure how they are doing this but i think something like that) so that you here some strange clicking sounds in a women vocal part.
What i'm trying to say is: don't worry about Indian vocals on the new Shpongle album. I don't think that it will become just ordinary Indian vocals but: vocals with the spirit from India and the magic from Shpongle.

Shpongle is one of the most facisnating electronic act of our time, their music is revolutionery and yet not understendable by the masses but in the next decades it will be appriciated like the floyds are appriciated right now.
Thier last album in my opinion is one of the best electronic albums, the whole "nothing lasts" main theme tracks are wonderful, psychadelic, smart and touching.. nevertheless the first and the second shpongle albums are also amazing...Say that you don't like the new style but you can't call Shpongle a dead horse.
And i'm worried about the fact that no one is talking about the Shpongle Live gig here and about shpongle in general, when psy projects become abit known the whole community just bashes it no matter if the music is good or not,
Well hooray to the shpongle live concert and i'm looking forward it new dvd
