It was a good party in general, but seemed too commercial for me in all aspects including the music with all my respect to Shpongle. And too crowded. Many people seemed to have a great time though.. especially those who kept shouting every other 20 minutes. Also, I think it is not very fare when you put one time on the flyer and then make it 2 hrs shorter.
The small afterparty was cool Big thanks to the drummers!

from what i remember i had a blast!! the vibe was great and everyone seemed to be having fun. simon tore it up. i was really hoping they would have had the new shpongle for sale but they didnt. i got way too wasted and ended up having to leave early, but all in all it was a fun night.

skybluegoa- it was nice to meet you!! hope you had fun

I am finding that alot of clubs in New York City are closing there doors at 4am now instead of 6 - 9 am, which was the usual closing time a few years back...
I wish that tsunami would realize that they could make more money and have better parties if they tried booking acts at clubs that aren't overpriced tourist traps...
I guess that people are so starved to hear trance music, that they don't realize that parties here in New York could be much better...

The flyer I got said it ended at 4...that doesn't make it any better that it ended at 4 though! From the perspective of someone who usually goes to parties in Texas, I must say the size of the crowd was very very nice! (the vibe was good too, better than Friday's in my opinion, but I take the good vibe for granted) I agree that the venue was more of a commercial vibe than a trance vibe and some deco would've been nice, but overall I had a spectacular time! Nice talkin' to Matt and Mark too, good to meet y'all!

Yeah, but the flyer also said it will start at 10 while they started around 12. For 1.5 hrs I was hanging around without any music whatsoever....almost fall asleep.

The Shpongle party was hands down one of the best parties I've ever been to. Cielo is a beautiful space and Simon's set was amazing.

GAIALAU and Tsunami should really apologize for telling people that Simon was on @ 10:30 only to have us wait around listening to Brian Eno until midnight. I also nearly fell asleep. That was pretty f-ing arrogant if you ask me.

But nonetheless Shpongle blew my head open. The sound @ Cielo was amazing and the crowd was a perfect bunch of people to go nuts with. The new album is transcendent and I'll never forget how it sounded in that space.

Thanks for the pics!
