Help needed:
Just doing a final mixdown - but but but!
When playing certain notes (reaching certain frequenses) the bassline occasionally gets "too high" in volume - when listening on my monitors.
But when I use the headphones, the bass is actually too low (in volume). Which should I trust?
Monitors: Alesis Monitor One Passive
Headphones: AKG K240 Studio
Heeeeeeeeeeeelp!

i got the same headies as you and from my experience i'll say trust them both. maybe find some middle-way. headphones are ok to mix imho...i use them mostly because they give a better sound than my crappy stereo system. but, you shouldnt ONLY trust your headphones. because in the end you want it to sound good when it collides with all these sweet molecules flying around.....you want it to sound good at a distance of multiple metres, not some milimetres...
my point of view, maybe someone got another, more professional one. cheers

How can you make reverb on headphones ?

Reverb is not the issue (and actually, at times, I prefer doing reverb on headphones), in this particular case...however EQ is, I think... perhaps...argh! Hate this shit...

I have the same headphones and they are really okay. But not for leveling tracks in a mix ! My rule of thumb is: do all your leveling and compression-settings on decent monitors. Do all (or most) of your finetuning of reverbs on headphones. |

hey lars, when i got pretty same problem, i'm making it sounds good in any of them monitors/headphones, but with bass first i think you should go for it on the monitors.

Thanx to each and everyone of you!
However... the problem is kinda solved, and this is quite embarrasing...
Well, my monitors are passive and hooked up to an old JVC amp. Without knowing it I've accidentally turned the bass-knob (of the amp) up to full... Since the headphones are connected to the mixer, they have not been getting the audiosignal from the amplifier... So as a result the low frequencies sounded very different from monitors to headies...argh!
Sorry for the time you've taken...
