Sheyba - Trance Africa Express Remix Competition
Join this remix competition of one of the legendary Goa/psytrance tunes of the 90’s.
Sheyba’s “Trance Africa Express” was originally released on Flying Rhino Records massive success compilation "First Flight" and became one of the most played and aired tracks in 1996/1997 across Europe including several top chart placements on national radio stations, music magazines and DJ charts in countries such as Greece, Israel and Japan.

All samples and melodies was lost when the Butterfly studios in London was flooded some years ago. This is all there's left so you have to live with the small sample package. But The bass-line was recreated and added as a midi file. I am sure you'll be able to do something new and interesting from the samples and the bassline as this is what we are looking for www.beatagency.dk

you're not kidding! this is not really a remix but a request to make an original track with 1 voice sample, 3 animal samples and a snippet of midi.
its a big shame. i love the original.

Some more characteristic samples would be good, but its also fun decrypting all them lead line notes. The animal samples and the midi file of that killer bassline are enough to make something that nods to the original, yet sounds very different.
We started this evening and I'm pretty pleased with our basic backbone of the arrangement.
This is a sample of a very rough mix of 3 hours work
