Just downloaded Beta OS 2.7...
The third usb out helps a lot.
Atomizer...hehe funny toy, a good way to evolve melodies or to make freaky sequences...love it. |

phaseINIT ! a lot of modulation (sometimes not wanted) comes from the OSC not(!) beeing restarted with new midi-notes. virus uses an internal gate. set phase-init to take away unwanted clicks-modulations especially in the effect-time. also my virus b adds some kind of flange effect if i dont set phase-init even on the default-zero-preset(!). ask the manual there is a better explanation.

Hi..
I have recently got myself an Virus B Desktop. it is awesome!
But I donīt know how to use it really.
1. I can play it with track, but can not bounce the audio to a new audio track.
2. I Donīt know how to use the external input on it.
3. I can only use Single mode. i donīt know howto use Multi
4. And I donīt knowhow to make my own sounds.. I will read more thru manual.. but I need musch time to study all other elements in music production. I have only used softsynths before, but i am getting hardware now, and building the studio.

just tweak your own sounds. softsynth or hardware, same functions. and for a studio u need monitors and acoustic. hardware synths are not that important, only more fun to tweak live |

Well, I got it plugged in. and working, but i can not bounce to audio as it is right now..
press Multi... = no sound
I always tweak my own sounds of course.. it just feels very different with the hardware synth, and with the settings and so on.
I use a LOT of different Soft synths.. but this is different somewhat.

cubase :
press F4 .. at inputs create a stereo channel and choose the inputs from ur soundcard where the virus is connected ..name it "Virus in" f.e.
create a midi channel, choose ur midi device and channel.
create a audio track..select for in "virus in", and press the small speaker between the red/black circle and the R button.
now u can record a midi sequence if u press play and record in the transport bar. (the "virus in" audio track must be selected)

use the extraordinary modulation matrix
there are so many routing capabilities where you can make your modulation wheel to control so many or few things like lfoS , filters , fx
all together or separate to make your sound interesting and innovating ,, or filters routed back to filters to have more stability or make things more accidental and give organic feeling or more analog(?) maybe
this can save a lot of automation things with just one wheel by hand
... experiment

press <Single> + <Multi> at once to switch it to sequencer mode (16 parts equal to 16 midi channels)
also: OSC phase init should not be set to 0
-> this will cause the synth to retrigger the tones
took me a while until i found out
filter self-modulation with the mod matrix can be used to make filters convex/concav
(when you assign positive/negative value)
