Thats because they are real ARTISTS and part of being an ARTIST is learning to live with the fact that the masses will not understand true art. If you take yourself down to the level of the masses to market yourself you are what they call a SELLOUT.

Ummm we have some several very talented femaled DJs here in NYC who prove you wrong. They dont have to market themseleves like you do because their talent speaks for itself and believe me guys LOVE a talented woman with self respect. These girls make the dancefloor go wild and ive never, ever seen them use their bodies to market themselves.
The fact that they are female and are truly among the most talented DJs in NY is a massive turnon and they dont need to do anything but be their onw talented selves. You should face the fact that it is because of your lack of talent that you need to show flesh to get attention.

While this tread is seemingly dead and this is the first time I’ve actually sat down and read through the pages and seen what’s been going on. I’d like to tell everybody in here that the person who’s been stirring the pot (Mvoyage) is NOT Vinyl Bitchie, nor is it anyone related to her label. While, for the most part, the person does write a little like VB does, they do not represent her in anyway.
I’m posting this only because when I spoke with VB today, she was upset that someone would pretend to be her and find and obscure (my apologies, but this is a bit obscure to find) trance website to post on. The only reason that person did so was because of the small amount of disrespect, or even personal opinions, that were given about her. From what I can see, it took over three months for Mvoyage to first show up on the scene, a nice long time AFTER the thread had, for the most part, died. Looks like stirring the pot to me.
Some things that make me believe my friend are the fact that she spins, and produces House not Trance. So why would she even care to be in here, to save her honor?? While she has no ill feeling towards the people in this group she does however have major problems with the fake. While neither she nor I can prove that Mvoyage is a fake, we can at least set something’s straight.
Marketing, maybe in other parts of the world people are looked at via their skill vs. whom and what they appear to be. But for where she is at the moment, she does what she feels will grab people’s attention. And it does work. Not for the T&A factor, but it has allowed her to get her foot in doors that were closed to all but the true knee-pad wearing female DJ’s out there. Has she done erotic modeling, yes, and once she did what she wanted to in that field, she left it. Does she still model, yes when she needs to do some marketing. Are they erotic, some, but not truly nude pictures, think Playboy back when it was first put out. (God I’m old for remembering that… lol) You will NEVER find any porns of her, no matter what. And as for her spinning, that’s been placed on the back burner because she accomplished what she set out to do in that. Now she’s looking ahead to her production company and making music. While it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, it is still out there and people like it. Try to find one artist that everyone can agree on is a “great” artist. You really can’t because people have different opinions, and that’s what makes this whole world so great, not just America, not just England, not just Israel, but everyone.
My apologies if this starts up the flame fest that was started by the fake, but she wanted people to know that is wasn’t her that was on here, but someone else who, for whatever reason, wanted to try to stir up some trouble. All it did really was to get people to find out about her, and perhaps, gain her a few new fans. If you’re one of them, welcome, if not, it was nice of you to stop by and really, have a great day.
As for some of the “negative” comments that were posted and directed towards her, I’m sorry, but they will not be responded to only because that is exactly how the REAL Vinyl Bitchie would react.
To Mvoyage: Marketing 101 people, even a little bad publicity is GOOD publicity because it makes people want to find out about the person being bashed.
