Hello once Again Friends , and a very Good Morning . So here we Go .

a while back i picked up my first ever hardware synth the Virus Ti2 , and the Adam A8x Series Monitors . and while working on em i realised this is where i would really like to invest my time and money , rather than involving in any other business that keeps me distracted from music. Now as you all kno how expencive the gear can get as you start filling up your studio , so i was wondering if i could put all of this gear in good use , add some more equipment like Mics , pro studio mixers , treated space , good ambience etc and set up a recording studio , where in i can continue to buy and work around all the killer hardware gear , continue to meet , learn and help as many talented musicians ( quality recording ) and also generate a living by renting out studio for back ground scores for movies , television etc as well as voice overs for Advertising which is big atm in india, and prety much use the same gear . what are the most important things that i mustt keep in mind befor looking out for a places , all the must have hardware etc etc . There is a lot of Material on the internet , but would be nice to hear from artists. studio owners etc from their own experiences . all the advantages and disadvantages that can come along .

The Budget could be around 70 to 80 Thousand Euros to set up the project .

I am not a sound engineer , so any kind of study material that gives me an insight into setting up studio , designing etc is welcome .

Thanx in Advance ,

interesting...

what s more worth to enter in the music bussines industry....? ( to milk money out of audio )

to build a top studio and engage against the top guys that are already known and acepted in musical industry from ur country... be it pop production or design production for other kind of multimedias like movies etc ?

or to put that money in a big university in europe or usa like FULLSAIL... and get the damn paper that sometimes will means more than tecnology and experience but will give u more oportunity to get job in a already made and big studio ?

Why don't you go slowly... and start a engineering school. Go do audio for a while just for fun and try to do some stuff for free for people you know and see if you still like it after 2 years. This way to save yourself 80 thousand euro's in case you don't like it..
Most people that are working in audio now took years to get there. Don't think you'll have a studio running in a year especially if you don't have lots of experience doing audio..

But also: if this is what you really want don't let anybody stop you! Just go slowly and step by step. Don't spend all your money in one go. You need time to learn the equipment you buy..           soundcloud.com/supergroover

it would be a big big ,no a very big mistake to invest 80 thousands euro for equipment with the aim to earn some money by doing adverts with this equipment and wihtout any real clue of this etc..
yes definetly go to uni to gain some real quality and knowledge and spend some longer time with real practice and expirience.
Especialy with stuff like mics and recordings, and real knowledge not internets.
Spend your money first on knowledge and expirience. All other plans is only a dream.
Especialy when you plan to go into postproduction or tv or movies. No way dude ,no chance without knowledge of what you exactly do, maybe some documents about your quality and in best case some good connections. Its not that easy and 80 thousand for a whole studio is not really much. First learn than realize what you can do best and where you exactly wanna be.
Just my 2 cents.

@ Verme , yes doing my survey about all possibilities , as of now advertising seems convinient as i have many friends with good experience in the field , also kno most bands in my city as well as all the issues they face while renting recording studios ( which are mostly amature studios or if good to expencive for the bands ) how ever the latter is again purely to support as
welll as learn , fuze with as many musicians Live and Electronic, which to me is priceless . it will be a more mid range studio , for regional movies and low budget television serials for a start .

@ super groover , i am going slow already, its almost after a decade of involving with music , i think i have a basic idea , knack , of how things work in the audio field . Btw the plan is also to run a part time electronic music school with expert engineers and artists that we tour coming in for sessions , so that makes life easier studying in my own school hehe and exatly just what i want to learn .

@ Time Traveller , i think i said business, which means i will not be handling the equipment except for whne i am learning them , i will be hiring a experienced team to manage project . 8o thousand will be for a start , as i get comfy in the field sure more directions will open up, hence i dont plan to compramise on quality of equipment , once i have more than what i require for this module, will move on to the next plan ( which is real plan )

end of the day we all choose directions to survive , for me surviving means music, and the studio plan i realise is the best way out to stick around it , continue to learn and generate money to survive with endless possibilities , as of now i am directionless this is the reason why i am on forums rite now , but thats always the case with me ,sooner or later it all opens up , suggestions , ideas are more than welcome .

and yes there are not many pro ones in my city which makes it an advantage for me .           ZIK(ep) Freak on a Leash Out now !
