my key ingredients to a "sound" environment, this may sound a little intense, but I'm wired:
- a crystal clear headspace.
- some inspiration, personally: my girlfriend, art (preferably something along the lines of roger dean), a recent unforgetable experience and a certain sound I can't seem to shrug-off.
- coffeeeeeee and rollies
- a clean mouse and keyboard, in their own space away from the midi-cable clutter and desk ornaments.
- a comfy chair (any pythonites around?)
- a handful of reference tunes lined up in the player/editor
I like to leave drugs out of the process if possible, they make things a bit messy on the tech side of things.
