A preview of a new melodic, progressive psytrance tune I've been working on lately. Still needs some finetuning, so I'm very open to feedback

Thanks in advance

Imo you could lower the hihat in volume cause it jumps out a bit more and change the kick with a more boomy one, this sounds very "ticky" and thin, i feel the track could lift up and become much more fat with a booming kick to use more space, check Psykick if you havent you can easily make one with more pronounced lows/low mids and maintain the same snap as the one you have

The hihats were actually boosted a bit because I got feedback on a earlier version that it was hardly noticeable in the mix. Also agree that the kick could maybe be a bit more wide and punchy, but have failed to come up with something useful yet, so I've stuck with this kick so far.

nice bass... its the only thing i could hear.
it dominates the track too much.

and the overall story is kinda... fluffy.

you need to find yourself a good balance between kick and bass.

all in all you are going well but you need more work on some fundamentals.

no offense but i dont think comments like

killer, wow, great work and such will help you.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

I surely didn't come here for useless "killargh" comments - what makes you think that? I'm looking for honest feedback.

Concerning the bass I always start out my tracks with the basics (kick/bass), and here it does sound quite ok on both my monitors and in headphones. I'm not saying the bass isn't too dominant in the mix, but you're the first one to say it to be honest. Exactly how is it too dominant? Should it be lower in volume, note shorter or something else?

Concerning the fluffy atmosphere; it's what I had in mind

Imo in this tune you could have the mix with no bass at all as long you get a fat kick eating more space in the mix, or keep just a simple sine for the really lows and fill the low mid area with more fat sounds, less filtered etc

Right then, had a quick listen. The bass needs tightening up for sure. In your EQ, set a band with a narrow Q and boost it a lot (like 12+dB), then start sweeping at the bottom end and find that frequency that is resonating like a mofo. When you find it, dip enough as to get rid of that offending resonating bit, yet not too much so your bass does not lose its natural sound.

Also make your notes a tad shorter, and put a compressor on it with a an attack setting of about 20ms to let some of the transient and initial "oomph" punch through. that should give your bass some punch cause it sounds too "meh" to me.

Thanks for taking the time to keep giving feedback

I just had a listen to the Soundcloud preview myself - actually it also sounds quite "mushy" to in the low frequencies when I use the Soundcloud, but my original export and mp3 sounds more clear to my ears.

My original upload (without Soundclouds compression):

And I also just did some minor corrections as Disco Hooligans suggested:

It might also be a good idea for the structure of the track to do little things taking out a kick drum or the bass just before a new part, reverse a crash, or add a snare on a different place than 2 and 4th kickdrum. These little extra make the new section more logical sounding often. And they make the track less repetitive.           soundcloud.com/supergroover
