Yes I didn't say you could get a better mix with cheap headphones, I said you could get a pretty good mix with them. You are definitly right, monitors are better for producing 
I hear people in many many forums say you need X or Y monitors to produce electronic music and headphones suck etc etc and then I hear the demo mixes they post and they sound terrible!

only someone who didnt tryed expensive studio headphones can say such thing...
its not a matter of know the headphones, is a matter of ear the sound in a realist way, the best and most expensive phones are the flat one´s , the ones who lie less and sound true...
its like monitors, there is 200, and there is 1000 euro monitors...
yes, the best material doesnt garantee that the final work will be better than others, because the most important still is the ears of the artist, but if an artist is earing the truth... than he can be close of making better mixes
you may have excelent earing sense, but if your 30 euro heaphones tell you lies, when you ear the sound in truth in big sistem you will be disapointed
never trust too much, unless you have monitors like dynaudio´s stuff, or HD studio headphones |

until you have learned your crappy speakers or headphones..you could have 3 albums ready to go on good speakers because you immediatly hear whats going on..way less time to learn..good room+accoustics provided..
ah yea..and it makes way more fun to have good sound, since that is what we are looking for anyway
