Good choice with HD 25-1 II. Pretty much industry standard for DJing as far as ive seen. But not for production use I think.           StarLab - Label DJ/Artist for Digital Om Productions

M8 , Im sorry to telling you that But theres no thing like that "Good production headphones" , It will always be sound different from the 'Real thing' And who know what im talking about know ..

For Dj'ing the best 1 so far is Technics , I use RP-DH 1200 But from my experience the RP-DJ 1200 Are much better (At the sound part) Strong and bright .

Always use monitors .. ! And if you have there bad neighbors .. So you can live in a wood like me .

I love my 280 pros for listening to music, but when I produced with them my mixes always turned out shit...and mine are open ear so not really great for djing either IMO.

They do sound fantastic though.            If you want to make an apple pie from scratch...you must first invent the universe

Hi Jeto.

I own the HD 25 - 1 for more than 8 years...

Very nice headphones and very very popular amongst dj's, many friends or many dj's/artists use them actually

They're a small closed type of headphones, and quite powerful, and very robust... never broke it or so, while travelling a lot and used them everyyywhere.
Precise for mixing too. And i tried a lot of headphones... AKG, Pioneer, Beyer, Ultrasone, Audiotechnica and the list goes on.

The difference with the other model, is that it's a lighter version: the HD 25 - 1 has more bass, more power, and is a little heavier.

Go for it, they're quite expensive, but mine are 'made in Ireland' if i remember well and nothing happened to them so much years.

About production and headphones i'll totally agree with Cardinals Cartel

Cheers !

99% of the time in life you get what you pay for. even though it may not be immediately apparent.

I own sennheiser headphones too (HD 280s), not either of the models being discussed, but yeah they are great, might be nice to have a bit more bass maybe, but everything else is crystal clear.           --

Might be worth checking out the Beyerdynamic DT770's (80 OHM)i'm a huge fan of them.

Some good reviews here

also check out gearslutz, lots of peeps like them. Make sure they're the 80 OHMS though.

My personal opinion: for production ever and ever is better to use well amplified studio loudspeakers (The brand you prefer). First at all for your poor ears: KEEP IT GOOD! and also because for production is better to have a flat eq and full range audition. This is not possible with any earphones.

For DJing I think they are wonderful! I like it a lot how they sound and the way to wear it!

You can get awesome mixes with 30€ headphones... you just need to know them well. People telling you to spend 500€ in studio monitors are full of crap and probably can't get a decent mix even with the best material in the market lol.

On topic: I have no idea about those speficic headphones, I'm using cheap sennheiser HD202.           Free album out now:

Sorry, but no $30 headphones can get you as clear of a mix as you would otherwise get with quality monitors.

Maybe if you were really really good and knew the headphones really well you could get a decent mix...but nothing compared to what you could get with good monitors.
