Hi guys,
Im trying to find out how to send for example a delay back to it self on cubase 5.
This to obtain the famous Dub delay results we are so used to listen to.
I know I can automate the delay but its not the same thing.
Please help and thanks in advance. |

Use it as an insert if you want to control the overall tone of the instrument with multiple parameters.
Use it as a send if you want to simply automate the send with a static feedback rate to create easier sweeps and movements.
I generally use my timebased processors (Delays, Reverbs, etc) as Sends because I like to have control of my overall mix and the character of my sound without having to change multiple parameters. Most DAWs will let you choose if you want the sends to be Pre or Post fader.
I'll use Pre-Fader for instances where my wet percentage is lower and I'm riding the sends to create sweeps or feedback loops.
I'll use Post-Fader sends in instances where I like the balance of my effects for most of the tune, also makes fades for the channel alot easier since the Dry/Wet levels stay static and aren't dependent on fader movement (as opposed to pre-fader sends where you have to automate both the channel and the effect return when fading if there's something feeding the unit).
Hope that helps.
