is there anyway to pan a send effect with the track it is connected to in cubase sx2?
a lot of times i put a reverb\delay as a send effect in a track and then i decide i want to pan it,so i remove the send effect and i connect an insert effect only because of that, and it takes away all the cpu.

1. if your reverb\delay has stereo input, it will respect your panning in any track.
2. the send effect can get input from more then one track, so you can't connect the pan to a single track.
3. if you still want to pan the track and the send together, you can draw the same automation.           "a new art came into my mind which only you can create, the Art of Noises, the logical consequence of your marvelous innovations." Russolo, 1913

so the answer is no, right?
so the only way is to pan tha fx channel itself,
and thats pretty dumb because other tracks are connected to it.

" 1. if your reverbdelay has stereo input, it will respect your panning in any track. "

i dont agree,
there are quite some plugins, for instance, that just sum the stereo input to mono before applying the effect.,
this would destroy any prior panning,

and when you think about it, it kindof makes sense.,(at least with reverb on a send buss)
if you play a sound in a space, the reverb tail will seem to come from all over the place and is not dependant on where the sound originated from (that's just roughly, of course there is SOME difference, but not realy a shift in stereo field of the verb tail)

anyway, i think that if you want your effect to pan along with your sound then you should use the effect as an insert.,

i'm not sure how you have your tracks set up but if you use an effect as a send then you propably want to send multiple tracks to it.,
if these tracks play together it's impossible to pan the effect along to the tracks that go in there.,
and it's not dumb, it's just the way it works.,

if you only send one track to the bus then it doesnt realy matter (cpu-wise) if you set it up as send or as insert., insert may even be less cpu hungry ,,.

that sucks!!!!!
i pan almost all my instuments, so i have very little use of the send effects.

i thought maybe their is more to learn about this subject.

even though somtimes i like the sound of the same reverb on a send rather then an insert, its like it flows with the instument much better.

you are right that some plug-ins don't respect your panning, but in most cases you can hear the diffrence. also most delay plug-ins usally let you change the panning as you wish.
I guess dj tuK was talking about hard fx panning, so in that case insert or automation are the only choices.
