Heloo Friends,
I am really have a problem getting the right psy feel to my tracks..i feel my drumings n the base are fine but the synths and fx's , not so much
here's a demo of my project
i fell the sound desings r right but still dosent sound very psy..so some advice would be great for me
I would also like to no about return tracks....which are the best effects (vsts and the preticular preset) for synths n fx tracks for the return tracks.
I compose on ableton live...here for reverb i use outerspace(its in ableton's preset browser),lots of delay effects and fabfilter timeless 2(psytrance 1 and psytrance 2 xs)

lets start by asking you a question (and im not being a smart ass!)
what sound can't be in psy? Its a very experimental genre my friend! your just offering something new and original in a way.
your track is nice the melody around 2.40 isn't your average psy melody, but it sounds fine in my opinion. what I think you need more of and is essential in psytrance is using filters to create harmony. and some of your sounds (which sound good by the way! ) could use some modulation of the filters (hi pass, low pass, etc...) to create variation, and harmony/melody in a way. now im not saying ALL sounds need to have filters on them. thats more your decision
sends are sweet specially for reverbs, delays, etc... in any daw really i think you will get more accurate sounds and cleaner sounds if you just add your fx on the channel of sound. its more work but its more detailed and sounds better. sends use what i guess you can call a copy of the incoming sound and duplicate it with the effect (at least this is how it is in ableton)

thank you very much for the replys
the link by willsanquil did give me a better view about auxs...
but still names of some perticural vst(& its presets) used on retun traks will help even better.
and if u can tell me the use of PAZ Analyzer Stereo by Waves ... what happengs when a signal goes into the anti phase area n is that good or bad?? and also the use of Brainworx Bx control v2....
Max had recomended me the use of this 2 plugs...i tryed working with them...i also hear the difference when i use them...but a basic knowledge abut them would be great

I think the problem you're mentioning is that your leads/fx sound too dry.
Add reverb and delay and it should be fine. Chorus can be nice too. Just play with it.
As for the antiphase problem, just check your mix in mono to see if anything sounds strange that way (this may lead to problem in some soundsystems).
