From the demos it sounds really good.
I think its going to be 1090euros.
Do consider the Doepfer Dark Energy as well.
It costs like 398euros and I'm ordering one mext month for the live sets. Been dreaming about the idea of live FM patches in live sets. I should have it in time for Paris on the 7th of May.
See you there Pom

demos patchs are not great but i like the sound caractere, maybe just a bit too clean and bright but might be how the filter is tweaked as it can morph from lp to bp and hp

With ease. Had 3 of them on my custom built Doepfer/Analogue Systems modular.
For the same cash you can buy a Dark Energy and build a nice 3U mini modular, mainly adding a second VCO, multimode filter, a ring modulator (the Doepfer one sounds awesome), and these two filter modules

These are definately not just to be cool!! this synths sound is just unreal...so fucking awesome...and it works real well for all kinds of music! Got a nice bitey raw sound to it..its bright yes but i wouldnt say its very clean at all..very diff from moog...But yeah most demos of synths suck honestly..nothing to judge by..i could make you a cool demo if u really wanted to see what this synths about...It can do some deadly harsh fm type stuff...lots of srange fx...especially when modulating filter with osc at audio rates....fun stuff....and the best part is..the more u turn up the resonance...the louder and more aggressive it gets...fuking UNREAL hehe...The filter is really just too cool...
I got the patch panel version that ive been triggering with cv...but now that theyve combined the features with the midi version it seems that im gonnna have to upgrade as soon as i get the cash...unfortunately unlike the midi version...the patch panels got an audio input on it but no pre amp...so levels r real low when sendin external sound to the filter...
I would not consider anything else in this price range honestly...its a freakin oberheim!

yes the filter sound great for sure ! if you have time to make a little demo , would really like to hear it doing fm sounds,fx, filter with resonance...some more bizzare sound with or wihtout fx..

Gate/CV signals are what MIDI is to "mordern" synths, even tho MIDI can carry far more information that gate and cv.
For example the VCOs (Voltage Controlled Oscillators) are constantly running. A gate signal turns the amp on (at the set amp-ADSR settings). The CV (Control Voltage) signal is what determines what note the VCO will play.
You can definitely get bass sounds out of the SEM Pro.

I would rather have really fast envelopes, and LFOs that go into audio rate.
Still though the Xpander does sound good, yet its even harder to get a nice working one these days, and I would guess it would cost a lot more than a brand new SemPro.
The Matrix 12 and the Xpander are definitely not the most fun synths to program.
