This week at Seeds:
Christie McClelland has 5 small healing arts businesses in San
Francisco.
She maintains a private massage, yoga, and wedding clientele, runs the
Gayatri Institute, leads the 8 week Well Being Cleanse, and is a
Ananada
Meditation teacher. She has a passion for working with people starting
from
where they are while balancing and addressing the needs of the body,
mind,
and spirit. She believes that through a simple lifestyle strategy that
one
can find health, fitness, peace of mind and heart.
Nourishing Your Body During the Winter (8:00 - 8:50)
Christie will be sharing simple and healthy ways to look at food, diet
and
lifestyle during the winter months. Find out what your body needs to
sustain itself and which foods can help you beat those winter blues.
Come
prepared to share your ideas, family remedies, and recipes.
Deep Tissue Shoulder Massage (9:00 - 9:50)
Learn how to identify and feel a hypertonic muscle (knot) as well as a
specific technique to melt layers of the knot and free the restricted
tissues. Christie will also be covering touch advice, warm up,
treatment,
and closing techniques for a clothes on shoulder massage that will
change
the relationship of the muscles to the bones while increasing your
range of
motion. YAY! Come with a partner or pick one from the group. This will
be a
hands on workshop guaranteed to send you into your weekend with a
little
less tension.
Yoga Kittie yoga in the studio from 6:15 - 7:45 for $10.00. Raw, vegan,
and
vegetarian food provided all night by Urban Forage. The cafe also
serves
organic juices, smoothies and desserts. Come unwind, restore, and
expand!
Urban Forage is in the lower Haight and can easily be reached by the
22-Fillmore, 71, and is just blocks away from the Church street
station.
Parking in the neighborhood can be frustrating.
Seeds is an open, evolving, community-driven experiment. We are
creating an
intensely collaborative event exploring ideas, new and old, about
enriching
our lives and those around us. Topics and speakers are selected
monthly.
