I have an X-Station, i will sold it and thinking of buying another one. I am thinking on (NL2X or NL3), and after got a virus C.
Based on the fact i will get a Virus C later would you recommend the NL2X or NL3?.
I listen to lot's of sounds and for me seems the NL3 sounds more similar to Virus C than NL2X, and of course i can save lot's of money buying an NL2X, but i'm still not decided about...
Could you give some help?
thanks |

Save the money and buy a second-hand Virus B or C. The difference between them (money) in Brazil is about 550 USD. The NL2 rack will cost the same like Virus B. The NL2 KBD a bit more. They both has its own signature sound and they sound amazing. I prefer the Virus B/C, though. |

Is there a lot of difference between Virus B and C? C has greater polyphony, but is it radically different (and more importantly, is it better)? |

Not really. For what I remember now, Virus C added a self-oscilating filter (called Moog filter), greater polyphony, greater modulation slots (on matrix modulation) and it has a 3 parametric EQ that's able to be modulated via sources on matrix modulation.
Almost the same engine, I think, if you have 500 bucks saved, Virus C, else Virus B.
Virus TI is another concept, has the Virus C improved + better arpegiator + Wavetable synthesis almost like Waldorf XT (some ex-employees from Waldorf worked on TI design) + evolutionary (not revolutionary, IMO) total integration concept. |
