first question:
i'm searching for a sound card in the 150€ 200€ price range. what would you recommend me? the one i see is M-Audio Delta 44 but i know people here usualy prefer other brands. i want some good advice on this. sorry for another soundcard thread

the feautures i want:
- 2 outputs, 4 if possible (analog)
- 2 inputs (analog)
- zero latency if possible

second question:
how do i sync two computers for music production? like one with FL and another with SX (or both with SX, just something lol). do i need some special soundcard for this? what exactly do i need?

thanks in advance... i'm a big hardware noob

hi

about the soundcard:

i've a delta 44 and i like it a lot, never had any latency problems with it

mostly i only use two outputs, but sometimes i use the 4 inputs to connect synths

one thing it doesn't feature is a midi port (i already had a external controller so no prob for me) but it doesnt have a headphone socket or a headphone volume

the headphone problem can be solved with the correct cables and using the other 2 outs for it (and the mixer soft to control volume)

in your price range, i think it's a cool card

about the sync, maybe you can sync them with midi, but not 100% because i never tryed it

sx3 has neat slaving features but never used it           roll a joint or STFU :)

I bought the terratec phase 28 for 160€. it has 8 outs, 2 ins, asio 2. The latency isn't that good on my system but I'm starting to think it's the fault of my system/the number of vst(i)'s rather than the soundcard. (allthough I have a p4 3.4 ghz, 1gb ram I still work at 46ms latency... with a lot of heavy vsti's. With moderate number of vst/vsti's I can go to 7ms). Anyway: I like this soundcard. Good sound and 8 outs (just what I wanted, latency is not that much of a prob since I'm not a hardware kind of guy. The few times I use my synth I just record it so I can use again vst's on the recorded wavs).

ps: It is pci (since I had a lot of troubles with my m audio FW AP)
