Seeing as this forum seems to be basically a party promotion forum and not a discussion point I thought I would chuck my two pence worth in...

So many parties now at SEOne - I understand that large clubs are at a premium in London now, but surely for a friendly party experience we could do better. The drink prices are extortionate, the security take it on board themselves to be undercover cops and very heavy handed and the idea of breaking SeOne up into numerous clubs at one time, although innovative, attracts some pretty undesirable characters.

I gave a friend two Nurofen from a blister pack about one month ago, and was then dragged to the side by security and told to empty my pockets....torch shined in my face and a thoroughly intimidating occurence....

anyone else have anything to say?

having jus put on a party in seone (which i believe you came to essbee) i can tell you the seone has positive points. i spent two days on the phone trying to find a venue for our night. most places were already booked up (2 months ahead) and others could not/did not want to help us. the seone management were very switched on, and because the place is so big it did not matter that they had another night on. what they included in the price was far and away the most comprehensive package i have ever been offered by a club inc/ lighting, set up etc.

that said the security there are wankers. i have been to seone and had a really bad time, not even able to smoke a spliff on the dancefloor without risking being thrown out. at echo system they were again being wankers, but there was nothing we as organisers could do, both management and bouncers had their own agenda.

it would be amazing to have a secret-ish venue up our sleves (we may do... ) but the more 'underground' it is the more the risk is for the organisers that something may go wrong -being robbed for example (re. tyssen street a few years ago) which makes the seone-type clubs a slightly more 'professional' option.

as for drinks prices, they are the same all over london in the bigger clubs essbee. coronet, renaissance rooms, seone. again it would be nice not to have to take out a bank loan to have a drink but...

finally, trance is frowned on by many club owners so options can be limited, speciallly if you are wanting to put on a night with 800+ people... when i move to london finding a nice place for small parties is a priority

SUCH A PLACE MUST EXIST!

Seone for me is by far one of the worst clubs, i tend to avoid it as much as possible.

I agree with all the points above but i also think that all of its rooms are far too small which makes it hard to make the main dance floor - this is compared to the rex and the coronet which i believe have a big room for the main dancefloor

Hamish - understand your words.... squat parties such as Mindscapes seem to be the best option. The New Years Eve party, 25th of February and now this coming weekend are usually winners...

But always the risk of getting shut down, but total freedom of the place, BYO booze, spliffage for everyone etc etc etc....

I am just a picky bastard.... he he he

completely agree... 'squats' have provided some of my best memories by far, jus that as a promoter (who can get a little stressed in the leadup to a night!!) i can do without added worry.

i have to admit to being picky now and again, fortunately there is nuf trance around that we can be!

essbee- You know what I think mate ? I think its time you gave up partying or at least gave it a break. You clearly dont enjoy yourself anymore and everytime you write on the forum its to nitpick and criticise a party you've been too. When the passions no longer there why keep living the lie ? SEone isnt my fav club in London either, you know what I do about it ??? I dont go ! Simple as that ! I avoid the stress, do something else with my time instead and avoid people thinking me a grouch by coming on to the forums to moan about it after

Is their a need for all this bitterness? dont think the guy is moaning about psytrance in general but saying that he doesnt like one specific venue.

I've always quite enjoyed the Synergy Projects at SEOne.. and the Twisted party was good apart from being too busy - but of course it was going to be...

I'm sure if anyone comes across any good legit large capacity venues in london happy to have a crowd that spend f*ck all at the bar - there'd be plenty of very interested promoters...

Au contraire Brandski - these are my first two posts in nearly 18 months, and I have been to some of the most kick ass parties during that time....Wild Things at Jacks - prime example...this post had exactly the desired effect, a forum of discussion...

Thanks Mr Neutron - not bitter at all me, I am off to Mindscapes this weekend and ready for a blast and then onwards to the summer madness!! My love for Psy trance remains undiminished, but SeOne?? - I will find better things to do with my time....no worries there bro'
