sorry if it sounds stupid,
but i was wondering, when djs are scratching vinyl, does it actually ruin the vinyl? (scratch)

even ordinary play ruins the vinyl.

friction between the needle and the record will eventualy (the estimates are on 1000 plays) degrade the sound. scrathcnig is like playing, but each scratch pass equals a single play so the record degrades faster.           Kinetic Honda GmbH, Worldwide Supliers of Quality noise.
