I'm not 'in the scene' anymore, but can tell you that PsyTribe and Green Sector are still the heart and soul of psytrance in LA. The big annual Halloween Freakshow festival has an awesome lineup this year (https://www.facebook.com/#!/events/423416854435251/429167383860198).
There are one off parties by other orgs and occasionally NoizeMakerz (that still their name?) has Wednesday night weekly but haven't heard anything recently.
Other folks could tell you more, if they'd check here once in a while (they're on fb).

I just wanted to come on here and say hi! I'm glad AumShantiAum already posted about our PULSAR monthlies... and we have other stuff in the works too. I honestly don't post our gatherings on here very much anymore because this forum just doesn't see a lot of activity anymore; though I would always love a change in a better direction. Well the deal is that I might be in the grwater LA area towards end of October, from the 20th or so and am looking for gigs, asked at Psychedelic Freakshow but have not heard back yet, I do have a gig in the Bay Area on the 11th of October and play at Mandala on the 19th... was hoping to get some more gigs as an excuse to go to Southern Cali, as the weather here in the Pacific North West sucks now...
