Review:
"Facial Memories" is the debut solo album of Russian producer Vladislav Isaev aka Scann-Tec, and it's a delightful album from start to end.
Within his special sonic creation of luminous space ambient downtempo psybient, Vladislav weaves angelic ethereal melodies, warm and rich colorful textures, sassy groovy basslines, energetic, enraptured well crafted beats and occasionally beautiful unique vocals that float gently in the mix.
The first two tracks are like delicious appetizers and from the third track the album really starts to take off and becomes more dynamic, intense and moving with each minute passing and the magic lasts until the end of the album. Dreamy stuff... it's a beautiful voyage into heavenly psychedelic landscapes.
Excellent lush production.
Scann-Tec developed a very individual sound and style. Deep and atmospheric. It's definitely an impressive release. This album offers a perfect combination of stimulating, uplifting energies with deep dive atmospheres and crystal clear sound.
Vladislav successfully manage to connect between the beautiful known spacey goa ambient style and the modern and sometimes futuristic diverse electronic wonders of nowadays, drawing inspiration from all kinds of musical styles but mainly he is influenced by people and their voices, all kind of different places, situations, other art forms and I believe simply by the actual experience of making music, finding inspiration within the music itself. This connection creates a fresh and innovative ambient perspective.
I also really like the deluxe digipak. The photos and short stories inside the booklet are great indeed. Very nice design.
"Facial Memories" will definitely be included in my best of 2010 list. It's a timeless release.
Really recommended !
High quality album.
Also worth checking out is his track "ASD" released on the wonderful Fahrenheit Project Part 6 compilation ( Ultimae records ) which also contains a remix by him and of course Vladislav is also a part of Sundial Aeon.
Cheers !

I have to agree. Such an amazing album! I love the rare psychedelic shell and the mild and tender inside of it, such a quality consistent trough the album, that is very rare.
Hope to see more releases like this in future!
