Hi everyone!
Well i know this subject has been discussed in previous posts (a long time ago),i've made an extensive search but unfortunately i didn't found nothing in concrete (at least what i'm looking for).
So here's my question:
Can anyone tell me which are the best scales for more "melodic morning" stuff?
Please try to be specific.
Thx in advance for your time! |

There is nothing like that.
Just to be original though, stay away from A & C.

I recently experienced a change in my music productions and i thought i'd share it with you and this is that if the sound you are working with is a really good sound it will sound good with any scale you use!

Quetion: Let's say you have made a melody in A minor. Won't the same melody sound the same if you make it in c minor, or d minor, etc? I mean isn't the relationship between the frequencies of the notes that make the difference? Can't you keep the same relationship and change scale at the same time? |

jeto, but the notes relate the same to each other - even though they are in different root.
UIU you are correct, that's why a scale represents different relations between the notes in an octave.
Of course if you play the same scales at different root notes, they will sound different if you're progressing with the notes.

Thx guys for replying!
I will definately try the minor, the richter and all those published on the site that Boobytrip gave me.
I'm also having (for some months now) music theory lessons in order to improve my knowledge...something i believe it's really usefull in this style.
Take care.
BTW Mike A.,what do you mean with "stay away from A and C",really? |

C minor & major and A minor are totally overused in trance today.
That's what I mean.
