i have a buffer of 256 samples
and the ks buffer at 3
i dont use direct dma or resample or force 16 bit
i use only disable input
and input delay to 10ms
and output delay to 0ms
but thats not absolit because on your pc and with the creative maybe other settings work better
my settings are for the avance ac 97 audio

If everything else fails try the APS drivers by emu written for the card that live! (10k) is based upon. But i think they exist only for win98 and they are orientated towards music rather than games so sound+performance in games is crap
Haven't tried them but people say you can reduce latency to 5 ms !
You can find another way to improve performance on this link also :

I also have the SB live and Id have to agree with monstrilla. Go with KXproject drivers (above). I have used them for a while and they really kick. I often get latencies around 5 - 10 ms which is not bad for such a crappy (ie non-pro) sound card.
BOOOOOOOOOM!
*EDIT* Okay I read your post again and you say youve tried the KX drivers???
Damn. You sure its a EMU10K1 or EMU10K2-based soundcard? Have you read the FAQ on kxproject.com?? "We are the music makers and we are the dreamers of dreams..." -- Arthur O'Shaughnessy |
