If I´m not mistaken, it´s also good to use "Prepare archive" option at audio pool...
First be sure to erase all unused files from the poll, then select all used files and do the "Prepare archive". It copies the files used at the project that are not at the project directory. So, after this process u can "Save to New Folder", choose again to delete unused files, and u should have a perfect backup for the track.
I´ve always used the "Save to New project", but only after trying to re-open them, I realise many missing samples...

But if you save it to a new folder, does it move/copy the used samples in the project to the new folder as well?

Yes, but ONLY if the files are at the Project Directory. In my case, I sometimes do not copy the sample to the pool, specially when messing with samples, and choosing best one(so no need for having 14 HH, and only 5 used). I just import samples without copy, and then use the "Prepare Archive" option at Audio Pool. This way u can be sure no files will be missed at the backup.

To make shure all samples in the song is in the project Directory
Open preferences, under editing.. choose Audio and "On import Audio Files" make shure the box is marked where it says "Copy Files to working Directory"
This option will copy all files to working directory immediately on import.
And on the toolbar in the pool press the "Hide/show info line button" next to the play and loop buttons"
Now you can see info in the bottom of pool window. About numbers of audio files, how many in use, total filesize and "external files"
If there is some external files use the pepare archive option mention above... |

I usually always copy my files to the working directory so there is no issue when I export to a new folder. I then export, burn it to a DVD and archive it when I'm done.
