Do you know if e-sata is as efficient and functionnal as internal sata ?

I have a P6T Asus motherboard running win7 64.

I'd like to run an alternative OS partition from an e-sata external harddrive for games and web, so that I could leave my main win7 partition untouched.

Thanks.

the most common solution would be to just setup a separate user account for games & web (without any admin permissions).

while your mainboard supports booting from eSATA port - it should work nevertheless ... even if this is quite overkill for what you're trying to accomplish           http://www.myspace.com/realtimeproject
